I may be implying that, yes. Let's face it, when you hire from within or make exceptions for relatives, ex-students, etc, you're not exactly being objective with your hiring process.
I know that this happens in every town, but it doesn't make it right.
I'm glad the teachers are getting more money in CP, but that prob won't change test scores and the district's rep. To do that, it may take a couple of generations and a socio-economic shift where residents don't move every couple of years. Additionally, you have a community in Cliffside Park where there are lots of immigrants or first generation students, who are bound to score poorly on standard tests. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that it's tought to compete with hi-profile districts where parents have been part of the culture and system longer and in turn know how to prepare their kids for school (early reading, writing, etc.). And who also can spend the time supervising and providing instruction on homework.
Cliffside Park has a long way to go if the suggestion of an educational overhaul is what is meant with the salary increase.
