Is that a '78 Chevy van in the Yreka (how do you pronounce that? I don't think my mouth moves that way) picture? I wonder if it comes with the house?
Seriously, that picture and price don't tell me the state of the local economy. My perception is that, while that house is a great price in Cliffside dollars, each of the three examples seem to me to be older construction and fairly run down.
The key question anyone with relocation on their mind has to be: IF the job I have evaporates, what is my likelihood of finding a non-WalMart job in the area? If the answer is "fuggedaboudit!" then why even bother? There is a flip side to that queston: "If I find that my little slice of heaven has turned to h*ll, am I able to reenter the economy of my hometown?" I think the blood will rush out at the stark, "NO!"
For Joe Average, a thousandaire, once you sell out of CP, you are not coming back. You are banished to Elvis Country until you die. For some, that's okay. For others, it's not. Just remember, CP is an identity, not only a place.
