Yesssr...and if you find the solution, there will be a statue built in your honor. This is the problem and this conversation shouldn't even be taking place. We do so many marvelous things in this country and we should be able to plan ahead and accomplish providing a place to live for everyone. There is no reason why costs of living have to be at a certain level within any given area. I can remember a time when Edgewater was affordable, Englewood, maybe not. Closter, Demarest, Tenafly, all had different costs though some similar. Pricing out all but the wealthy in an entire county is not healthy.
In the example (and it was only an example) I presented to the board, there are homes from under $100,000 to well over a million. Some action should be taken to ensure the lower prices remain for those who don't happen to have a million to spend on a house. Bergen County and North Jersey, most of Jersey has lost that, along with a lot of people who can no longer afford to live there. That is the real travesty.
