Send me that URL address on that house and I'll take a look at it for the 78' Chevy. I'm not sure which one you're talking about. My email address is real.
The reason this entire threat caught my eye is that I finished school with a BA in Education. Once I realized the salaries offered, I changed my mind and went into an apprenticeship that offered a well paying technical profession. I did well over the years and about 10 years ago, decided that I didn't need a big salary anymore as the kids where all gone and I wanted to spend the last 10 years or so giving back to society some of what it has given me while starting another pension. I have a very short time left to retire from the operations department of the school district I work in. Most school districts offer an insulting salary for it's personnel when they begin work, yet offer a higher salary that they should have to for those who stick it out long enough. A teacher in our district begins at $24,250 a year. After 10 years and a Master's, they earn $31,500 a year. The average cost of a home here is right now, $305,000.00 To qualify for one of these homes, it would take a down payment of $61,000 and a salary of $84,500 a year to qualify for a conventional mortgage.
There is a city out here where it is impossible for any teacher to live and teach in that city. So this can happen. They drive 50-60 miles each way to places they can afford to live in. As the cost of gasoline goes above $5.00 they will be in real trouble. I won't want to hear that happened to CP or any place in Bergen County but from what I see and hear, the cost of living is going in that direction.
Peace
