You have three words of missunderstanding to my original post. The teachers have no obligation to buy anything. They just do it because they care. Many of the children come from homes where they really have nothing. Our district has a free breakfast program. In order to qualify for this federal program, the school must be providing a certain percentage of subsidized lunches to the children. Subsidized lunches are given to children in poverty level homes. There are some children in our district who are homeless along with their parents. I understand our current local administration has a plan to do something about the homeless problem, but it is so big. There are several programs out there already. Too many homeless people and few of them are illegal immigrants.
