Ok, I'll begin:
I lived in a townhouse in CP. I had nothing against living like that. People were friendly.
A townhouse is just a duplex without end. Ours was a 10-plex.
Now we live in an area where there are what they call "Cluster Homes". ususally 4 or more homes built together in such a way that when looking at each one, it looks like a single family house until you walk around it. They are nice and they are a bit pricy. A positive thing about their construction, only 2 exposed surfaces and that saves energy.
