No flying here either. My wife presented me with a birthday gift where we took a short flight from one airport to another (with an instructor) but I did the flying both ways. It is like riding a bike, the only thing I did wrong was on downwind to the destination, he tapped me on the shoulder and said, "you might want to slow down a little." It was a Cessna 172.
I had a situation too. My first wife and ended the relationship and I was given custody of two girls 4 & 8. The priorities had to change. A few years later I married a second wife who had 2 boys. I really didn't have a lot of time for flying after that though we did hold on to a 1967 Mooney Super21 until after the boys became a part of my life.
I could still return to CP but all my friends are gone, my parents. Only my sister remains and she no longer lives in Bergen County. She moved up to Sussex. What I really miss is what was there when I was growing up, PAP, Hirams, Callahans, the White Castle. Those days really are gone forever. Somehow I don't think it would be so kewl to be prowling around in an old vette
or the hog I had in those days. I remember going to Edgewater and the river. I'll bet you can't get very close to it now, all private property. Most of it was then but as long as you behaved yourself, no one bothered you. One place I lived and thought I'd found home. In the Pacific North West and on the Puget Sound. There were only the public docks where you get close to the water. All private property-keep out.Peace
