Those New Duplexes

I just have one thing to say to all the people I see complaining about these duplex houses. I also used to think the same way. I bought an old house in town. First the plumbing went, then the electric was not up to par, it kept blowing the fuse. The roof leaked, the kitchen was old, not even a cabinet in it. Forget about closet space, we had all we could do to get one persons clothes in it and we were 2 people. We got it for a "good price" thats why we bought it. But it was a MONEY PIT!...Not to mention the drafts from the windows, that was another story.
So we tore it down, for what it would have cost me to fix up that "lovely old house" I now have a BIG roomy house, with BIG closets, HUGE rooms, a sunny kitchen, new up~to~date electricity, a basement (no longer just a hole in the ground), a roof that doesn't require pails on the floor to catch the leaks, AND a spot for my computer too!
Not to mention 3 bathrooms.....Wonderful!!!!!!
The house also has a warranty from the builder. So, I have NO regrets tearing down the old house, and I can understand how you feel, but take it from someone who has been on both side of the fence....This was the best "move" I ever made!
I did try to save the old place, but it was always
something new breaking down daily, not worth it to me, we had enough.
Many of the old houses, look great from the outside, but are just waiting for you to buy them to suck down your hard earned money and are not worth it. Jusy my 2 cents.. Thanks for listening.
