Tax Revaluation

I got a letter from "Market Value Appraisal Sevices" of Fair Lawn advising that they will be doing appraisals of all real property in Cliffside Park for the purpose of tax revaluation.
This comes as news to me since I hadn't heard that revaluations were coming up. For anyone who has been through one of these revaluations in Cliffside Park before, what can we expect? Do shady politics play much of a role in CP tax revaluations or do the officials play pretty fairly here? Is there anything we should know about Frank Bucino, who is listed in Bergen County records as being the tax assessor for Cliffside Park, or anyone else involved in this process?
Also, is it generally advisable to allow the appraiser to have full access to the house and property, or are you better off making them do their estimate from the outside only?
I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes as long as the valuations are done fairly, but I've read too many stories about crooked politics in NJ to have much faith in the system.
