underground tunnel

I heard of a rumor about an old railroad tunnel that goes from Fairview to Edgewater, and there is some kind of vent around Jersey/Park Ave by Palisade Ave in the backyard. Does anybody know anything about this tunnel? Is it still stable? It seems to be interesting for a day trip exploration. So far my info is from Weird NJ, but not much help from them.
