Monte Carlo in Cliffside Park

Recently I read an article in The (Bergen) Record titled "Just Plane too noisy,'' about people in Teterboro complaining about the roar of airplanes using the local airport.
Here is another source of noise in our community: the recently opened Border Blues Southwestern Grill at 606 Anderson Avenue in Cliffside Park.
We wrote to mayor Calabrese, to the borough building inspector and we talked to one of the owners, Bobby Vergara (sp?) They promised to take measures but haven't kept their promise. The nightclub is opened until 3 a.m. and the noise coming from kitchen ventilation rotors mounted on the roof can be heard even with the windows closed. Apart from the fact that you can hear the orchestra band playing vigorously at wee hours when working people prefer to sleep rather than drink hard liquor. Plus the noise coming from cars parked around the place.
Sure, residents around the nightclub have nothing against such an enterprise, provided its owners maintain the same peaceful and quiet atmosphere we've enjoyed for so many years.
Borough officials are quick to point out they have no vested interests in the Border Blues business. The owners bought the place from Calabrese Realty.
The Calabrese administration, which is aware of the problem, should keep the Border Blues owners under close scrutiny and make sure they obey the state laws.If not, we can contact NJ lawmakers or write to the local newspaper about our complaint.
We do hope this won't be necessary.Carmen
