DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT

When is this supposed to happen?
Why does a town like Edgewater continue to have the upper hand over CP??? When will the people in this town realize we are fast approaching if not already a Fairview or West New York style of living on Anderson Avenue? Do we want CP to become a 3% zone? The time to change is now. The answer is not to put speed bumps and one way signs in one part of town and let motorists rip through the streets of Palisades Avenue, Anderson Avenue, Columbia Avenue, Lafayette Avenue, etc. on their way through the town as opposed to adding revenue to businesses in the town. It is a sad trend when all that can apparently succeed are nail and beauty salons.
I love living in CP, but I also would like to see the perception of our town move beyond "mook" status or the stereotype which was of a town featured in the movie "Copland".
CP has so much to offer and it is a shame that a small constituency of stubborn and aging people can't let go and let a newer generation have their say.
Why not start with simple conversations with the towns that will host the light rails or ferries? Is the trend of too many out of town landlords out of control? Are we too late to the punch? Are the bricks and mortar that fuse a community together gone?
Shame, shame, shame.
Thank you.
