Great Town in 60's and 70's

My family and I moved out of Cliffside Park in 1974 when I was 14 years old to Old Bridge Township in Middlesex County. I must say that some of my best memories are from my years in CP. The people were so friendly and everyone seemed to know one another. I grew up on Edgewood Lane (near the Fort Lee border) but could travel all the way down Anderson Avenue to "The Coach Sport Shop" area and never worry about being bothered. One of the most positive aspects of life in CP was the Italian ethnicity of the town. In the 1970's and early 1980's CP was constantly rated one of the safest towns in the COUNTRY! People there had names like Tedesco, Gentile, Marino, Spincola, Luraschi, Elia. What a special town it was!
I wish all you who live in CP have as many fond memories as I do. CP will always hold a special place in my heart.
Take Care,
Steve D. (Would have been CPHS class of 1978)
