Hi Cliffside resident,
Let me confess that I am not a hypocrite like you and I did go to BB. And (listen carefully) I liked what I saw there djuring my visit around 8 p.m. Food was good, though a bit too pricey; service was curteous; the hostesses were very nice and the restautant is kept clean. For people who like to drink at the bar, this is the best place on a 10 mile radius where one can booze down his entire 401(k) savings in a couple of months if they feel the urge. Alcohol is plentiful and it flows like the Hudson River.
But let me ask you? If the owners are good hosts for their patrons, why can't they be good neighbors? You know what I dould have done? I should invited the closest neighbors at the Grand Opening. Hi, guys. We came from sunny Florida to your sophisticated New Jersey to do business and we'll be your neighbors from now on. Let's have a beer together, and if there are any problems we can work them out together. Please welcome us in Cliffside Park and wish us well, and in return, if you have any complaints about Border Blues, we will try to fix them for you.
Too much noise? Ok, we'll can work on that. Parking a problem? No problem, give us 2 weeks and you'll get what you want.
This is how smart business entrepreneurs are doing. Unfortunately, it seems that the IQ of Jerseyans is much higher than the national average (sorry about that pals; no offense meant)
Our problems could -- and should -- have been solved easily from the outset. If they haven't -- and are now growing more numerous-- don't blame the residents. We did talk to authorities and to the BB owners but things never moved in the right direction.
It's a sad situation that the snowball is now getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger, and...
