I had the same problem with both new phone service and DSL. I ended up being stood up 3 times for phone installation and (at my old apartment) had to wait 6 (yes 6) months for them to connect my DSL. The order got "lost" in the system. I ended up getting 3 free months of DSL, but it was not enough compensation. I wrote a letter to both Verizon and the Board of Public Utilities. Makes me sick...
