Recently several people wrote in asking questions concerning the Board of Education and the elections. I would like to attempt to answer their questions. One question asked concerned why is it that current board of education members are not running for re-election. I am sure that the candidates have their own reasons but I surmise that one of the following may be a reason for them not choosing to run again:
Could it be possible that they have already given their family members a position in the school system?
Could it be possible that in addition to their teaching positions, family members already have coaching jobs to supplement their salary and there is nothing more that they can give their family members?
Could it be possible that after working with the last superintendent, they feel under the new leadership the ship is sinking and its time to bail?
Could it be that they see the school system deteriorating and they do not want to be associated with a failing school system?
Could it be that they are aware of things happening in the school system that most parents are not aware of such as fights where students are led out in handcuffs or students being caught with a weapon in school?
As I stated before, I am sure they have their own reasons for not seeking re-election but the possible reasons stated above seem pretty compelling reasons not to seek re-election.
