[Schools/Education] Budget

Unfortunately, the budget in Cliffside Park was one of only a handful in Bergen County that failed. What exactly does that mean? It means the Mayor and council will now decide how much the Board of Education must reduce the budget. What that figure will be will be available in the coming months. It can be a relatively small amount up to tens of thousands of dollars. Will it mean cuts in sports at #6 school as someone has suggested? I doubt that very much. Some of the coaching jobs were created due to politics and I would find it hard to believe they would hurt their own. Will teachers be cut as someone else suggested? That would be a possibility but would only add to the overcrowded classes and lower test scores. Either way it seems that the students will be the ones affected. I only wish the Mayor and council the wisdom to request the smallest reduction possible in the school budget.
