we are getting away from the reason why these questions are being asked. the emergency medical service is not affiliated with volunteer fire department. the only thing it has in common is that is operated out of the fire house and bears our name due to it's past affiliation with the fire department when it had a combination fire department. the combination fire department no longer exist. the emergency medical service is a paid career position, their salaries are compensated by the boro, the boro third party bills for this service to offset the cost to the taxpayer. local 45 fmba has two members out of seven full time time persomel. the local is attempting to conduct a fund drive to raise money for their local, why should the taxpayer or resident or business make a donation to an organzation that will not use any part of that money raised to provide any part of the service they are being paid a salary to perform and equipment being provided by the taxpayer & now also being subsidized by your medical coverage.
why aren't the other 5 fulltime personel part of local 45 what is the local a closed unit.
they provided a form letter saying that they were performing the fire service and the emergency medical even though they are a small group and regulated just to provide emergency medical service. so the letter they sent misrepresents who they are and what the stand for.
