yeah we are going to have wet down it a tradition of the fire service that is the volunteer fire service. yeah some other departments might come in a wet the truck a little bit " big deal " moron the truck is made to go out in the rain it going to get wet or how about when it is flowing water at a fire it is going to get wet. i am glad you invited the residents of the town because that who we want to come to the wet down. we want to show our appreciation for them supporting us aand supplying our department with the best equipment. bring your whole family there will be food supplied by the outback restaurant, there be entertainment for the children, there will be bands and a dj to supply music for the event. yeah there is going to be beer but it will be in a controled area and there will be police present to make sure that every thing stays in control. there will also be soda & bottled water available for the participants. we have ran two of htese events before one for our 100 th anniversary with hte boro and the wet down for our other pumper in 2000. we had no trouble then and we don't expext any now.
as far as wasting the taxpayers money to run this event. there is not one taxpayer dollar going into this event. give us a little credit.
