I understand the logic behind requestding that library books or school property be returned before a student can take a final. However, I still think that regardless of the cost of a yearbook, and caps and gowns (Legal or not) and I'm sure we can find that out, I am talking about the right to withold a student from taking a final when not paying his class dues. Yes, its not a lot of money, but wouln't it be nice to have a comments field on the report cards, that indicates if class udes are still outstanding and the amount owed.
I still believe that yearbooks should be optional. Why would anyone buy something if they really don't want it? Grantwood, I agree with you. I don't ever remember paying for them when I was in school.
Maybe if we approached the Board collectively with suggestions rather than just putting them on the defensive initally, we would be heard. I pay the dues because it's not my son's fault that the school has this mandate. I certainly don't agree with its tie to final exams.
