As Hot East said, he could have or should have been more forthcoming in really explaining why he pulled you over.
People just want honest information and communication.
If he had explained himself, you probably would have not given it a second thought and it would have been forgotten by now.
Instead he really put you off, hence your post.
I can also supply two other possible reasons for the stop.
Was there any cell phone activity going on?
The laws changed about a year ago and you can no longer get pulled over and ticketed for just talking on a non-hands free phone.
You need to be pulled over for some other offense, and then you can be ticketed for the phone.
Secondly, according to a small article in the paper a few days ago, the CPD got an additional $4,000 grant to use to crack down on DWI.
It said that there would be stepped up enforcement and additional overtime for officers starting today thru Labor Day.
Maybe you just got caught up in this.
In any case, glad that there were no real problems that came out of this for you, the officer, or the town.
