A lot of people lose perspective that the Borough is only 0.96 square miles. Still, it's pretty long from end to end and a few of the intersections are tricky for pedestrians with all the commuting traffic - especially for children.
The only time I was ever able to put distances into perspective was during college staying out in Gopherville somewhere where I had to drive 20 miles to get Chinese food (and it wasn't even the good Chinese food - I had to drive 50 miles to get anything that wasn't cowboy Chinese [steak with rice and gravy and a fortune cookie on the side]). CP even has sidewalks!
Walking places is good (and step one to changing a neighborhood); too bad more people won't do it.
