Here is my two cents:
You got lot of responses (mostly negative) regarding the school system in CP. if you read carefully they are talking about the higher grades or the High School , which is about average to put it mildly or mediocre to put it bluntly.
If you have younger kids say K to 5TH Grade, the schools are OK considering the socioeconomic demographic of the Boro. If you take School No. 6 for example and compare it to the “better” towns and run side by side comparison of the assessment scores you will see it is a solid choice. I give you an example:
School No, 6- Cherry Hill - Oradell
(Cliffside Park)- (River Edge) - (Oradell)3rd Grade Math- 88% passing - 85%- 87%
3rd Grade Language- 90% - 92% - 88%4th Grade Math -77% - 88%- 88%
4TH Grade Language -95%- 95% - 94%Note both River Edge and Oradell boast themselves as blue ribbon and share a high school which is consistently a high performer in Bergen County.
So as you see CP is not that bad in the elementary level. The problem starts at higher grades.
