[Gen. Discussion] CP Trivia - Round 3 answers

WOW! Some of you guys are really old!!!!
Hot East....I wanna be just like you when I grow up! You are the winner, by far, of all three rounds. You may collect your prize Monday morning at 8:30 at the 7-11. I’ll even throw in a cup of coffee (12 oz). Just go to the coffee counter and ask Vinny the Pot for the Perfesser. We probably went to school together...or you may have been there a long time before me! Were you in Mrs. Pulver’s english class?
Here’s the answers:
1. Where the Cliff House now stands...not the Briarcliff.
2. Hiram’s or Callahan’s....Cheese Burger, Raw Onions.
3. Mr. Frank Biasco.
4. The Amazing Dunninger. The Amazing Kreskin came along after The Amazing Dunninger. (We called him by his first name “The”.) Kresge’s was a department store.
5. Gus Lesnevich.
6. Near the tennis courts south of the High School. It’s where we went to smoke during lunch or have an occasional fight.
7. WHitney 3 and WHitney 5 (Shared with Ridgefield and Fairview. Fort Lee was assigned the Windsor exchange which was shared with Pal Park.)
8. Potato Salad. Best sammich in town. When they let us out of the HS for lunch we either drove to Hiram’s or walked to Frank’s Deli which was where the liquor store just north of 7-11 is. A roast beef hero with potato salad sold for 30 cents. The nickel extra brought it up to.....damn...how much is that?
9. Irving Rosenthal’s little trick to get a few cents more at the Amusement Park. “Leave the hole in the fence” he said. “If they don’t have to pay the admission they’ll spend more money in the park”. He also liked the idea of letting us think we got over on him.
10. Centex Homes of Dallas, TX.
Bonus question:
“Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of men”? The Shadow do!
That wraps it up for this series of Cliffside Park Trivia. Gotta shake the cobwebs outta the old cranium and come up with some more teasers. Thanks, everyone for getting involved...it was a lot of fun!
