SPRING "CLIFFHANGER" FILM FESTIVAL: SUN. 5/19

SPRING "CLIFFHANGER" FILM FESTIVAL:
"REEL WOMEN IN FILM"
On Sunday, May 19, 2002, the Fort Lee Film Commission, along with the Fort Lee Public Library, Palisades Interstate Park Commission, and Nelson E. Page, will present the Cliffhanger 2002 Spring Festival. The program, “Reel Women in Film”, will be a salute to the pioneer women filmmakers of Fort Lee, and a tribute to the women filmmakers of today.
Starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Fort Lee Historic Fort on the Palisades Auditorium, the program will consist of two 16mm prints, produced by Fort Lee female film pioneers: "A House Divided" (1913) by Alice Guy Blache of Solax Studios, and "Trilby" (1915) by Clara Kimball Young of World Studios. The event will also feature:
• Fort Lee’s own Jeff Barker, Galaxy Theatre Organist, accompanying the silent portion of the program;
• An exhibit of the recently acquired personal albums of World Studios actress Gail Kane;
• Video presentation from a few of today’s female filmmakers from New Jersey, shown on a 1200 Lum. LCD Projector;
• Refreshments served during intermission;
• Hosted by Joanne Santiglia, news anchor of TimeWarner Cable Channel 10 News
The festival is free to the public, with t-shirts sold to benefit the Film Commission.
