It seems to me that the problem skate boarders face is mostly an image one. If skate boarders looked "neat and clean" (whatever that means) then people would be OK with them. But the image people have of skateboarders (and I guess the image skate boarders themselves sort of like) is the edgy rebel type...slightly bad guy...non-conformist.
I have no problem with people who want to have that image, but whenever we chose to present ourselves a certain way we have to realize the consequences...both good and bad.
