The following comments are from prior submissions
nominating Frank Biasco as Person of the Millennium
and from postings on the Cliffside Park Message Board.
Frank, through his work as Borough Councilman
and Director of Recreation, touched the lives of everyone in
Cliffside Park. More than that, Frank was a gentle man. He was
there for anyone who needed him and gave of himself freely, without
question. When asked for a favor, the first word out of Franks
mouth was always yes. His work with the children
of our town spanned two generations and will never be equaled.
Frank Biasco was the personification of what Cliffside Park is
all about.
We all have fond memories of this giant
among men. I will never forget the first time that I met Mr.
B. The water company was replacing a line on Grant Ave. and had
damaged a gas main. Water filled the line and Mr. Biasco was
the company rep for PSE&G sent out to correct the problem.
I have never met a person who had a bigger heart than he had.
He turned no one away. He embraced life in his own inimitable
style and we are all much richer for it.
He gave his heart to everyone who knew
him, and to those who didnt know him. Everyone who knew
him always saw him with children all around him, they would see
him and just run up to him. We all know how proud he was of his
3 children, but when he was named a Grandpa by little Frankie,
I know that was one of the proudest days of his life. Then the
grandchildren just came one right after another, 7 in all. They
all filled his heart with their smiles and laughs. He has done
so much for this community and he will be greatly missed. There
is a great void in our hearts and it is not easy to fill.
We all know that he was the kindest
gentle man with the biggest giving heart a person could have.
Frank and his unending love for the children of Cliffside Park
was immeasurable. Here was a man that never could turn down anyone.
He always said, Our children are the future of Cliffside
Park and we have to make sure they have the best recreational
events ever.
Every child that has grown up in the
town over the past 25 years has seen, heard or talked to Frank.
As as child I can remember many time with him in Recreation.
He is truly sincere about his job and loves the kids. He has
put many people on the straight and narrow. Someone that has
touched the lives of so many children has to be special.
In
regard to the person who has had the most impact on the town
and people of Cliffside Park, only one person comes to many peoples
minds and that is Mr. Frank Biasco, Mr. Recreation.
This man truly is the man of the millennium with no doubt.
Everybodys his kid in this town.
I know Ive been since 1975.
Frank Biasco was one of the nicest people
you would ever meet. Everybody that knew him or at least had
heard of him would never say anything bad about him. With his
kind heart and soul, if there was a human personification of
God, he was that personification.
What comes to my mind when I think about
Frank is the sincerity he had in his heart. He had a heart of
gold. If you were lucky enough to know Frank Biasco then consider
yourself to be very fortunate.
Mr. Biasco left a lot of things that
we can remember and never forget. It will not be the same in
Cliffside Park without Mr. B.
Frank Biasco was a pioneer in this town
and a true friend to all. I can remember being a small child
in the 70s and having many exciting memories through Franks
trips, and each year at Christmas he would come to our school
dressed as Santa with gifts for all of us. What a full life it
is when one can spend it giving to others. Thank youyou
are my hero.
Frank Biasco was one of the finest gentlemen
ever to walk on this earth.
Frank was honored for so many wonderful
achievments in his life. The honor that first comes to mind was
UNICOs Man of the Year. Frank was always my
Man of the Year, now and forever. If I was asked to stand up
and discuss my fondest memories of Mr. Biasco, I would need probably
about a month to do so. He was without a doubt one of God's greatest
creations. Not a child crossed his path without being a part
of the love and passion he had for all of them. When Frank entered
a room frowns all turned to smiles. He had a heart the size of
Texas. You have touched my children and I in so many wonderful
ways, and you will forever remain in our hearts.... I love you
Frank....
He was a man who would go the extra
nine yards to help you. I can remember many times when a parent
would come in to sign up their kids for summer rec, and they
passed the cut-off day, Frank would never turn that mother away
- that child got into the program. Frank would always say yes.
Theres a part of him that wants
to be here still, and I know theres a part of him that
always will.
